Welcome to 29th Annual Bread and Roses Festival!

Join us for this free, day long festival celebrating Lawrence's labor history, cultural diversity, and social justice! The festival, produced by the Bread And Roses Heritage committee, commemorates the Bread And Roses Strike of 1912, Lawrence's most significant historical event.
Held annually on Labor Day, the festival offers live music and dance on three stages, children’s activities, theatre, spoken word, walking and trolley tours, ethnic food, Lawrence History Live! and information from local organizations continuing the struggle for social justice today.
Held outside on the North Common in downtown Lawrence, The Bread and Roses Festival promotes Lawrence, The Immigrant City, and her rich history of embracing multiculturalism, promoting workers rights, and remembering that, in addition to the bread, we need roses, too.
Come celebrate the true meaning of Labor Day in the most appropriate location, the site of the Bread And Roses strike.
------------
